HALIFAX INTERNATIONAL SECURITY FORUM WELCOMES
2019 CLASS OF THE PEACE WITH WOMEN FELLOWSHIP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC–Halifax International Security Forum today welcomed to Washington, DC, its newest class of the Peace With Women Fellowship. The 11 participants hail from 10 NATO and NATO-allied countries.

The Peace With Women Fellowship deepens the knowledge and expands the networks of senior women military officers in order to enhance their leadership capacity. After its successful and much acclaimed inauguration in 2018, it is now in its second year.

Peter Van Praagh, President of Halifax International Security Forum, met with the Fellows today, saying:

“We are pleased to welcome the second class of the Peace With Women Fellowship. We look forward to the growth these accomplished officers will undergo in the coming weeks. They also bring invaluable experience that will undoubtedly contribute to our broader mission of strengthening strategic cooperation among the world’s democracies. We look forward to seeing them again at the Halifax International Security Forum in November.”

The Fellowship is a three-week executive tour for senior, active-duty, female military officers.

About the Fellowship
The program begins on October 29 and concludes at the 2019 Halifax International Security Forum, which will take place November 22-24. The program will travel from Washington, DC to Silicon Valley, Toronto, and Ottawa before concluding at the 11th annual Halifax International Security Forum. Fellows will meet with government, military, business, and academic leaders to deepen their understanding of American and Canadian strategic challenges, as well as the cutting-edge technologies transforming the realities of national security.
