January 15, 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
15 January 2018

WASHINGTON, DC–Halifax International Security Forum is proud to announce the opening of the Call for Applications for the Halifax Peace With Women Fellowship.

The Fellowship is a new leadership program organized as a 3-week executive tour for senior active-duty female military officers. The Fellowship will take place in late October and November of 2018, and participants will visit the political capitals and technological hubs of Canada and the United States.

Selected fellows will meet personally with government, military, business, and media leaders across North America, and engage with them on a wide-range of cutting-edge topics.

“Women provide vital but often unrecognized contributions to peace-building and security,” said Peter Van Praagh, President of Halifax International Security Forum. “Increasing women’s leadership roles in security affairs is central to safeguarding democracies. Through the Peace With Women Fellowship, Halifax International Security Forum will advance women’s leadership in security and build a network of women leaders among militaries around the world.”

Application Process:

The Call for Applications is open to active-duty female military officers from NATO member and partner countries of rank equivalent to army colonel (naval captain) or above. The Call for Applications will close on April 30, 2018, and selected Fellows will be announced on June 15, 2018.

The 3-week executive tour will begin on October 25th and end with Fellows participating at the 10th Halifax International Security Forum to be held November 16-18, 2018.
